![]() I hope the new owner drives the wheels off of it. This pseudo Pony interior looks OK to my grizzled eyes, and might have help keep the price down to a reasonable level. Modifications, especially interior ones, are often a personal choice at best. The 5.0 Ford V8 is a very satisfying experience, a nice balance of low-end torque but reasonable revvability (yes, I know that’s not a word). The Fox Mustang seems to hit a sweet spot of being old enough and having enough of an ‘analog’ feel that it’s a fun old-school driving experience, but modern and reliable enough (relatively…) to be usable as a regular driver without having to tinker with it every few miles. It might be a bubble like the rest of the collector car scene is experiencing right now (air cooled Porsche 911 anyone?), but it’s inflating fast for these cars. Some recent sales of choice low-mileage examples (GT, SVO) have sold for about what a new Mustang costs. Fox body Mustangs are one of the latest ‘collectible’ cars to start on a rocket ride of price appreciation. The listing is already gone, which is not surprising if the car was in anything resembling decent condition. Thank you “ĭo you have a Fox Body Mustang story you’d like to share? That combined with what appears to be white-knob-topped Hurst shifter and Flowmaster exhausts has us flirting with selling the Eldorado to make this deal work. We like how the upholsterer eliminated the original headrests to recreate the look. Instead of simply restoring it, the owner of the past 15 years recovered the seats and door panels in what appears to be a modern interpretation of the first generation Mustang’s desirable Pony interior. Looking past the oversize truck spoiler and period-correct “Day 2” Weld Wheels (we’d remove the former and change out the latter) what’s really striking about this example is the completely redone interior. We think it’s no coincidence the current caretaker has his Mustang priced exactly at the Hagerty Insurance Online Valuation Tool #3 “Good” estimate of $9,200. I have drove around the past 2 days with no problems. No mods.did a standard tune up (Plugs, wires, etc.) I replaced most of the cooling system (except heater core.Bypassed) with stock replacement. ![]() No electrical problems. No weird gauge movement when starting or while running. Each time I would stop for gas was maybe 10-20 min of rest for the car. After the second and third time I would wait to 3/4 and fill it with no problems. The first time happened at a 1/4 tank and the 2 and 3rd time happened at 3/4 tank. The third time happened after 90 miles of driving and it started to spit and sputter and I was able to exit and get to the gas station and fill it and was fine. I was able each time to re-start and go for a few 100 yds and get to an exit and do the same to a gas station.where I would fill it and add STP Fuel Injector cleaner and run all the way home approx 150 miles. I would floor it and it would act like: run die run die and run again. The first 2 times was at idle and it would not stay running.Would crank normally and then spit and sputter and die.
